About Jill
As a mother of four young men, I have dedicated the past 22 years to raising and homeschooling them, first in rural Western Maine and now urban Northern Alabama. From my childhood, I have always embraced nurturing others, and looked for opportunities to serve them. I love my role as a doula, being able to care for mothers by offering support, understanding, and comfort, as I dedicate my time to them. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to provide help and guidance during the beautiful journey of motherhood.
Having experienced the stages and processes of labor both through training and personally with four live births and one miscarriage, I bring a unique blend of knowledge and empathy to my doula practice.
I believe in empowering women to make informed choices during labor, whether they prefer a medicated or unmedicated approach, a home or hospital setting, and with or without interventions. It is my commitment to stand alongside my clients, providing unwavering support and guidance to help them navigate their individual labor journey.
I view the role of doula as nurturing and supporting both the mama and her partner through what can be an overwhelming experience. My goal is to help mamas find more strength and endurance when they feel they have reached the end of their "rope". I like to think my job as a doula is to help find "more rope".
